Quick Summary
- A Wanchain bridge allows USDT crosschain transfers from native to native.
- A new native-to-native USDT crosschain transfer service is now available on Ethereum, BNB Chain, OKC, Polygon & Arbitrum! Tron and Avalanche C-Chain coming soon!
Based on total market capitalization, USDT is the leading stablecoin in the world. During times of market volatility, it is used by users worldwide to trade between cryptocurrencies and to store value. According to trading volume, USDT is the single most liquid cryptocurrency in the world.
USDT XFlows: what are they?
Tether’s USDT XFlows are native-to-native USDT crosschain transfers between blockchains, where USDT is natively minted. With Wanchain crosschain bridges, XFlows are executed.
What is the USDT XFlow system?
It doesn’t make sense to use a lock-mint-burn-unlock mechanism when bridging assets minted natively on both chains. People who bridge USDT from Ethereum to Polygon surely want real USDT on Polygon! Therefore, the lock-mint-burn-unlock mechanism is ill-suited to crosschain transactions involving native tokens. There is no need to worry about decentralised liquidity pools since Wanchain’s bridges are compatible with them!
Liquidity for USDT is provided by whom?
Through the lock-mint-burn-unlock mechanism, Wanchain’s USDT XFlows are powered by USDT liquidity provided by users. Additionally, the USDT locked on a source chain before minting a wrapped-USDT on a destination chain is used as liquidity for native-to-native USDT transfers.
In the future, Wachain’s USDT XFlows will support native USDT on Avalanche C-Chain and Tron. Additionally, USDC XFlows are also on the horizon.
